Mission
We are on a mission to teach every elementary school student about one of the key contributors to pollution: fast fashion. Our educational program inspires students to explore creative up-cycling art projects through the donation of used clothing from the surrounding community.
Vision
Every student learns, every student contributes, every student makes a change. We are working with a local elementary school to create a fast-fashion art installation. This project is being created by 325+ 5th grade students with the fabric from community clothing donations. But best of all, our participating students are gaining first-hand up-cycling experience and our participating donors are keeping old clothes out of land-fills .

About the Founder
Rachel is a passionate 17-year old from New Jersey, who found a love for education at a young age when she first began teaching music to a children’s choir at her church. Through various camp counseling experiences, tutoring and babysitting jobs, Rachel developed a passion for teaching others. She is a Girl Scout currently earning her Gold Award, the highest award any Girl Scout can earn, by educating her community about creative up-cycling practices. Through Green Stitch, she is able to educate children and adults about the power that they have to stop one of the most pressing global issues: climate change. Rachel believes that together, we can make the world a better, greener place, one stitch at a time.
Outside of Green Stitch, Rachel is the President and Founder of the Armenian Club at her high school, a Research Assistant at Princeton University, and a Peer Leader at her high school. Rachel’s favorite things to do are spending time with her family, playing volleyball and lacrosse, and singing in her church choir!
